Obras em Exposições Coletivas

 

Em 2007 registrei o work-in-progress de 'Enterro de obra de arte na Av. Paulista - São Paulo, Brasil' junto com a ártista Rebeca Stumm. Ela fez uma série de ações (eventualmente enterrando todas as peças da instalação cerâmica "Flores", exposta publicamente em 2003) no momento único em que a Avenida estava tendo suas calçadas reconstruídas e o seu chão - terra, estava exposto ( 2007-2008). Os enterros  foram realizados em frente ao Instituto Itaú Cultural, Casa das Rosas, SESC AV. Paulista, Metrô Brigadeiro e MASP ( Museu de Arte de São Paulo).

Cabinet and MASS MoCA issued an open call for gifts to Sol LeWitt in any form of an image, an object, a piece of music, or a film, books, ephemera, and other non-perishable items. A publication documenting the contributions will accompany the shows and will be presented at the conclusion of the project to all participants.

Documentário expandido de 37 minutos em 4 telas, sobre a grande festa de Oxum & Oxumarê no Ilê Olá, filmada em 2009 & 2010 e que usa meus arquivos videográficos e fotográficos de 1997-2007. Aborda o uso de telefonia celular, midias móveis & internet no candomblé. Obra pode ser vista 4 X 37 minutos, totalizando 148 minutos.

Filmed in 2009 & 2010 the documentary uses my archive of images from 1997-2007 - when the temple featured in the film opened - in order to discuss the effects of photography, new media and the internet on recent aesthetic transformations in candomblé. The project proposes a 4 screen X 39 minute projection as part of a larger multi-media exhibition on the impact of cellphone use in African Brazilian candomblé ceremonies.

The final phase of the project will result in a video-installation developed in coordination with participants, as part of a Master's dissertation at the University of São Paulo.

First Photographs - Primeira Fotografias (2010)

In January 2010 the Cassini mission made public the first photos of a moon called 'Prometheus'. The myth of Prometheus bound could be perceived as the first 'photograph' ever taken: presenting an image frozen in time and space. With the advent of photography, we have all become frozen in this time and space. The piece links this concept to space and religion as boundless universes that lie outside the reaches of traditional image capture.
